So where's he going to go for the next 9 weeks or so? Many days I feel like i'm literally going to pop already!

Well, the Monsarrats are re-entering the world after 7 full days of a fever virus that's kept us pretty much quarantined ( i can't spell that word) at home. Mike started out with it last sunday and then abbie got it monday then mommy and baby asher came down with it wednesday. Abbie has bounced back best thankfully, Mike's close to be well, and mommy and asher are bringing up the tail end. We prayed and prayed Asher and I wouldn't get it and God took good care of us in that my fever didn't get near has high as Mike and Abbie's.
On a more exciting front, we are loving the cool mornings and evenings that the fall has brought. We went to a farm 5 minutes from our house, Priddy's Farm, to see all the pumpkins and take pictures last weekend. Abbie wasn't really up for staged pictures but she loved having free reign to run around and "smell" the pumpkins! That's right, that's what she's doing in that picture!
We've enjoyed playing outside every day now that's it's cooled down. If you say outside, Abbie runs straight to the back door squealing "ouside"! She's got a few toys to ride and push around and then Nana and Papa bought her a swingset for an early Christmas present that we hope to get up next weekend. We won't get to play on it long before it's cold but even a few weeks of her getting to swing and slide will be worth getting it up for.
Our church, that we joined a few months ago and are LOVING getting connected into, is having a harvest festival next sunday and Abbie's dressing up as a frog. I'll definitely be posting pictures of that later on.
We have just 8 1/2 weeks left at the most before Asher's arrival! Abbie can say Asher and when you ask her about him she runs up to my belly and pats it or rubs it. She has been fascinated by her own belly button for awhile now and the rare instances when she sees mine, which is almost inverted to an "outie" now, she points and wants to touch it and i try to use those moments to "prepare" her by saying "it's baby Asher". Her world is going to be ROCKED come Christmas!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-79021310429239749332010-09-19T20:43:00.000-07:002010-09-20T07:01:35.644-07:00Countdown to Moose's Arrival<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcVW6CLiQrGJbjoJgaiPGHZaA4fCKH6-2UPZV-v7KloTG93ydeulKzkh4yndysCHyG0Xc-RIycafi-3ojhZYIP-nrAurZTudeOcOwFkSoNgIw-danZqfpY7HTgAhhVCBbcsUgwkhVMRg/s200/101_1587.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5518990825382932946" />
We've visited our close friends, the Shows, 2x this summer. I must admit, blogging just isn't a priority for me, but that's apparent. Anyways, God is blessing us with an addition to our family and we are so excited it's a BOY! He remains nameless at the moment except for the nickname "moose" that mr. bill, mike's dad, gave him from the time we announced to Mike's family that we were expecting. He was totally convinced we were having a boy long before the evidence was seen on the ultrasound. The pastor at our church recently prayed for little moose when we announced to the church this praise in our lives one wednesday night at prayer meeting. I'll never forget what he prayed "God, You've already called him by name...." and it was then that God laid it on my heart that He's already named this little boy and we are called to pray fervently for Him to reveal the name He's called him by to us and then obediently give him that name. So that's where we are at in the process... praying for God's guidance in naming "moose". We're pretty sure that's not the name He's called him by! haha!
So here's some pictures of our summer and of moose as we're growing VERY fast!
Abbie now puts her hand on my belly when I ask her where her brother is! So sweet! She's fascinated with her belly button and enjoys looking for everyone else's too! I had to put a stop to her pulling up people's shirts to find their "buttons" very quickly!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-77649632489714710232010-05-12T18:48:00.000-07:002010-05-13T07:27:30.295-07:00Fun with Nana and Papa<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQwn98IrIgYWlwkd_sL3wUhU_sr1sGi_D7oZGMjD2KfkfWxYYwhl-jaOSItFSIkTm82KVMvQRFK4U0GW8ziSh_QSVxzunA6SeohoZ5_pOeTV9JIoMg9Ne41cg2SPD4t1qsMy8D4e9YyA/s200/101_1547.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470756945319638194" />
In my parent's front yard, we had great weather most of the week.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-rDvdDUYx0F6rcNPmmdBk0_tjsEZ5cQs_1GdfeJf6ScayO8Z8ciaiaXWVCIj9NzC2BOe7dwUKq4d_BRKOnHDOVAMxCkA49u2PSBGtBfXi7OL1RmzpF9znaatmUDNv4swuj9OJK3U3ZQ/s200/101_1496.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470756934486352514" />
Playing in this swing is where we spent every evening
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqSVBEUBRTYSjh-CVB7xE557p2zk4DW8BsIaAO1_vZJC9X0dXacFlPaafHs5bdf2uE-pVb44gjGfOaJQ7PRmjo7PSXsTf7ajwK71-iEKXXhkFwR0IMwoe3dI14FI4cuWeq_pYa7QqYAA/s200/101_1544.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470756932918948594" />
3 generations on Mother's Day. David Platt truly knows how to bring the Word of God and is annointed each time he preaches, even for the 4+ hours of preaching that Secret Church entails! Nana and Papa babysat Abbie and she spent the night with them in their hotel room, I missed her! My first night away from her all night, a hard night for Momma!
On Saturday we visited family in Alabama before heading to Atlanta for the week. Abbie, Nana, and Papa truly soaked up every single waking moment together! My mom said it was the best Mother's Day present she could ever have. Abbie took her 1st steps the night we got to Atlanta, my dad saw it first, as she was delightfully chasing after my parent's 3 cats. She LOVED them! She loved to grab their tails and then when they would move their tails she'd giggle so hard. She crawled and walked trying to "chase" after them and never gave up on that game the entire week. I got to see some of my friends from home, which was nice, and we had a great time just relaxing and hanging out with family and friends.The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-57831128682943948322010-04-14T09:50:00.001-07:002010-04-14T09:56:18.859-07:00A Much Needed Wake up Call to Reality!kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com
Please read this blog every few weeks and you'll understand why i'm highly recommending that you do! I just read it and as usual, never fails, it pierces DEEP into my heart regarding our Lord God, what life is TRULY about, and what reality is for SO many people in this world. I need this reminder frequently, daily that is. Today's post brought my heart to a point of pure awe and thankfulness and beyond that words just can't describe. We have SO much that we take for granted, what we would consider little things aren't little at all but great BIG things that our God has given us that we need to praise and thank Him for daily! Our safety, family, His mercies that are new each morning and abundant, and I could go on and on. It's a small world because turns out this girl is from Brentwood, TN where I lived close to Nashville for 10 years. She has an amazing God story that will leave you speechless! She is following hard after our God and I pray that I'm surrendered so that my Lord says the same of me and others also see it so that He gets the ultimate glory from my life on this earth! Get our your kleenex because many of her stories will bring you to tears. I pray God blesses and moves you like He does me every time I read this blog. Of course it's a combo of happy, joyful, thankful, reminisent, and sad emotions. This first year of life with her as part of our family has flown by and God has enriched and blessed Mike and I's life beyond imagination and description through the gift of her. I frantically finished her baby book, or at least up to 1 year, the day before her party and it was amazing to look through the ridiculously large number of pictures taken of her, between us and my Dad, and see how drastically she's changed since the day we met her for the 1st time. God's faithfulness has truly poured out over her and us as a family since we found out July 11, 2008 that she was on her way!

Don't know if I ever shared that crazy story but I'll give you a quick synopsis. I'd been sick for a couple weeks and had some dehydration problems resulting in low blood pressure issues and started feeling really weak one morning as I was working. A co-worker took my blood pressure and it was really low so since I worked in a hospital at the time my boss took me to the ER to be checked. They started and IV of fluids and in that process at one point the doctor said to me "guess what you'll be doing in 9 months?!" I was shocked, beyond excited, and totally overwhelmed! God had taken care of Abbie and protected her through me being sick.

My pregnancy went well until about 34 weeks when I went into pre-term labor one day at work. Instead of heading home that afternoon, I headed up to the maternity floor! My labor continued to progress and the doctors finally told us they just couldn't stop it as the medicines they'd given me to stop it were only increasing the strength and frequency of my contractions! They stopped the medicine, we kept praying for a miracle that God would stop the labor, and we just waited to see if Abbie was going to make her debut! Once the medicines stopped, the impossible happened, my labor stopped! So the next morning they sent me home on bedrest for the next 3 weeks until it was safe for Abbie to come. Of course, ironically, I ended up being induced at the end! Abbie had a mind of her own from the very beginning but she was finally here in our arms safe and sound!

God faithfully took Abbie and I through labor and though small, she was totally healthy and vibrant with life! One scare we had when she was about 3 months old was that one night Mike was coming down the stairs of our old house and his foot missed a step and he sat right down on his bottom and Abbie began to roll out of his arms but he caught her at just the last minute by her feet! That was a night we'd both like to forget but God totally protected her and she was hurt at all! I stayed up with her all night that night to watch her and make sure she was ok. What a scare but God had protected her with His mighty hand! No more scares like that since then thankfully and we've had an amazing journey of life with Abbie as parents where God's shown us in so many ways how He loves us through this opportunity of being her parents. Daily He reminds me of His patience with me, childlike faith that He desires from us, and that in my own power I can't be the mom He desires me to be to point Abbie toward Him but that He must do that job through me in His strength, not mine.

Mike, Abbie, and I celebrated her birthday February 25th, with a personal iced, sprinkle donut with a "1" candle for her and singing Happy Birthday to her to practice for her party on Saturday the 27th. Abbie LOVED being sung to and tore into that donut after warming up to it for just a minute! Saturday she loved her big party too with family and friends. She didn't seemed overwhelmed by all the people at all. Mike and I made a homemade butterfly cake to go along with the garden party theme. She loved being sung Happy Birthday to, once again, and enjoyed the icing of her little cake. The kids all seemed to have fun and the weather was nice so we got to go outside for the cupcake pinata game. Abbie wasn't amused at all about pulling the first ribbon from the pinata with Daddy's help but seemed to like watching all the other kids do it and then loved when Daddy put the empty pinata on her head at the end! We are so blessed to be surrounded by so much family and friends to celebrate Abbie's 1st year of life!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-90635824070423700262010-02-13T13:35:00.000-08:002010-02-13T13:45:27.674-08:00Happy Valentine's Day<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKBsv2kpv5D0Z3TGjCUTO8Z7sAk5IcgYp0Y8UO22YWOBUjLCDkS2GWo0AL_1fGJuMFdOQ1vIuhC7E2Uyekk2Tv4FvVPGnboEhcT0aBb5woE0uymGXZYmt1bLdUVNjJb1DzUVKUrrUs6A/s200/100_1304.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5437846920844071778" />
Not sure what to think of this crazy Valentine's boa!
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0LwcNpkJPd4Mro3eW6HoXpGE6-Q4HlqTU32MzD_t5-EizIrlphQa5na9tKOsKPxBEeRH6OHrHpgIxyaSMnDAni0NvHvivQQFlOcIvHaDm5dtOfsFdZcmaFx_Z2yJfP50YYUP-AWqU7w/s200/100_1309.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5437846914823203762" />
Much happier with the lion wearing the boa!

Abbie is sporting 2 items from a special Valentine's care package she received from her Nana Rose and Papa Ray! I put the boa on the couch for her to watch from afar a day or so after we got it and she'd just stare at it. Then I put it on the floor where she plays and she'd reach out slowly and touch it and then pull her hand back and crawl away. Letting her warm up to that crazy looking and feeling thing! So here's the final product of her "wearing" the boa to pose for a special picture. This blog is dedicated to Nana and Papa! I tried to wrap it around her neck but she just wouldn't go for that! Feels like we are back in Nashville, because it's rare that it snows in Memphis! We've welcomed it though, especially because it means Daddy is off work! We are just a little more than 2 weeks away from Abbie's 1st Birthday! Can't believe it! We plan on spending Valentine's Eve together as a family and eating a yummy homemade dinner at home! I think that will be Mike and I's Valentine tradition. His culinary creations are better than any we can get at a restaurant! Last Valentine's Day we were waiting on our little Fusser! Time has flown and God is SO GOOD! He's blessed our family more than we could ever ask or imagine! Daily as I walk the road of being Abbie's mommy, God teaches me something new about how much He loves me, how patient He is with me, and how much He cares for me. It's so humbling for sure!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-82074614151118427932010-01-21T15:08:00.000-08:002010-01-21T15:17:45.805-08:00Pulling Up and Other Fun!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDmahtKw7bm5B81ZVWT_F8_fA9Jb4u0MCSvhOvqFPaoG3PCiwse5BpXV67dIR821iXVp35_UkDvhhJWWDSJ3xwgh6HILmur7YWj0Bdmz1oAYz_lKX6HeOxy3UQtR1Rg5Q3xIPRFK0-Lg/s200/100_1250.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429334601052060962" />
If any of you have these little exercise mats you know just how unstable the crossbar things are, but that's not a deterent for Abbie, it's just another challenge on her list of objects to pull up on!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE5AeTETBv7oDoDuVar-pqZyYiA-CHqrEP_Iad3anBTYiu_F_fz27j92FkYppKgp3Dco_aeXlDaz8Ahs7YFz9jOgCUeS3HpvW-0Z-kaCugWpTVui9DmwxrSj7y772NL-7c-yrSUZZd7Q/s200/100_1248.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429334593866096978" />
Bundled up for the cold January weather! We celebrated with Mike's family Monday night, the week of Christmas, with a big delicious dinner and presents. We spent the holiday with my family in Alabama and Atlanta. We got to my aunt Kay's house late Wednesday night and had a blast with my big family Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. We headed to Atl with my parents Christmas day and had lunch with some close family friends and then Christmas once again with my parents at their house that afternoon! Abbie loved all the toys but was totally indifferent to the paper, bows, and boxes. I thought it was supposed to be the opposite? Leave it to our little one to break the mold! Abbie was sick the whole time we were out of town and I took her to the doctor yesterday morning asap to find out she has double ear infections!! Not fun! So we've been hanging in at home the past 2 days since it's in the 20's and 30's out, not ideal weather when double ear infections have come to visit! We had a wonderfully blessed Christmas with family!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-88508323901888182262009-11-30T10:02:00.001-08:002009-11-30T10:21:56.896-08:00Happy Thanksgiving<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL4nhNK5k-U_d3cwqznHyMCGSWMWBxGBbuspvM47Ua5VBIS_HdsnA2mAz0c9G_M2HnSW25wi6gJJ4QKobwjUgQmSHNCt0lrWDqLlyTmvXs2qLPHYvFcn0wkd5AnhvD26Y-67WDUh3c_g/s200/100_1126.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409962549739196578" />
Aunt Amy and Abbie
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5iaXjBLn58NM9iXeY9r4X1v-tNS5bbtbVuWFA5Hllxe2qJHRBaW77jgwMKDgnDpL-Oc15SMvJkbPU2-bIcJa_YH5dsCeN3KHA9kDIWkJtJXzPgzCWVcjesSoRGKQNA_m6qD3e5hJfLw/s200/100_1135.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409962042584745858" />
Breakfast with my stuffed turkey and "i'm stuffed!" bib!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuQLRJcrrFndgWd0kzZoZdMn9Slv32IDNL0CY6cQb6BGaTgGxD7OKn4lHQUa79txU-Orav4bcR_tQy0J0ghfKq8_W3HzmOZLokkD5uS9eWRVj0y8OqmJ3tDyIhcN3fGNyOxjzJ4Gmfrw/s200/100_1127.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409962038457232018" />
Daddy bonding with a big, fat turkey leg!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEwVviJagwShfszRHjQrxaxbw83X0KGq0n0fDB-lQ3gXXezMbX8p0SistVRfbkk8TOn_QmGU4xMV0xaWh-T6sLwpKpYNKSc1PZd3NPHyeaXzsiGeAiAnsKPKREpDyWecu79uga-dkKxA/s200/100_1129.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409962027669694242" />
The struggles of crawling! She doesn't oppose it either.The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-30437740352016453702009-11-11T08:29:00.000-08:002009-11-11T10:24:20.126-08:00We're Back.............<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZuPEcUJoMuitzINTjmadBX_sOFkUo1sYfeoSoSQrAAO34AjNmF_fd7bzHHKoG8YIE4RQRLOKynaDeou4sM9qhAvbNHPNG8CvxTNNygMcBg96v3R0kgKrCH0zQbrpVpyMicFm3tLGo5Q/s200/100_1101.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402901422448857186" />
Abbie enjoyed shimmying a tree with Daddy while hiking in Mississippi! She cheered them to victory, well actually just distracted several of the fans around us!

So I've gotten ALOT of grief from a few folks for my taking a LONG hiatus from blogging....it hasn't been purposeful at all but just busyness, but I know that really no excuse! Since June alot's been going on in the Monsarrat household and life. To begin, after 9 months on the market, our house finally sold by a miracle from God above in this struggling housing market. We closed on it and moved out at the end of August. We moved in with Mike's parents as as of then didn't yet have a new house or timeline of when we'd have our own place again. God lead us to just the right house He had in store for us, not too far from our old house, and we closed on it the end of September. In the meantime, I started a new job where I could work only 2 days a week to stay home more with Abbie! God soon brought us the gift of me going down to only 1 day a week of work, so that's where I'm at currently! It's the BEST and I highly recommend it to any Mommy out there that's interested! So we are in our new house now and almost settled, it's been a long process. It definitely feels like home to us and all the boxes are unpacked, but not everything has a spot yet. That will come...what's the rush??
Our 3rd niece, Hallie Claire, was born in September, to add to the pile of granddaughters in the Monsarrat family! We're up to 4 now, 3 girls for Mike's brother and his wife, and then Abbie Rose. Lily, the 2 year old, has named all her baby dolls Abbie and she loves to get right up in Abbie's face and say her name repeatedly!! Abbie's used to it now since it's a weekly occurrence!
We've been on a few road trips, one of our favorite things to do. We went to French Camp, Mississippi at the end of October to enjoy the peace and quiet and small town feel with my parents, aunt and uncle, and my parents super close friends, gene and angie. It was a great time and so much fun for Fall. This past weekend we went to Birmingham to continue our tradition of going to Secret Church at the Church of Brook Hills, 2x a year. If you've never been, it's a must on the to do list for sure! If you want to learn more about it go to secretchurch.org to get the details. Once you go, you'll be hooked just like we are. My parents me us there to entertain Abbie for the evening while we were gone to Secret Church and Abbie had to work hard to keep them under control!
Abbie is 8 months now and sort of close to crawling but honestly would just prefer to roll to whatever destination she's preferring at the moment! She gets up on all fours then quickly falls back down on her tummy without any effort to begin to crawl. Time's flown these past 8 months and her growing up is definitely a bittersweet thing!
It's good to be back and I won't make any promises but hope to be seeing you much more often than my record the past 4 months!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-58117416105943549712009-06-20T13:25:00.000-07:002009-06-20T14:03:19.865-07:00Summer Fun<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT8r-cRXy5xRWwMNmGU7uE9WgToT9uPPaOUfTE1p4fsoGUWn_Yfu-xhMU7eMV9R94c80ZNI-5zXRSMv6VoDNFT_vDJX3cYwMpelH-X9exDdjj2zF7OwnT8aate19Dd4xJ0ujssHntQJw/s200/100_0850.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349516973329763730" />
My first swimsuit! I managed not to poop or spit up on my pretty dress borrowed from my cousins, Maggie and Lily.

So I've been out of pocket blogging and facebook wise these days and the culprit is WORK! Yes, I'm back to work since the end of May but praise God it's only part-time, 3 days a week, instead of full time as before little Abbie came along. I get my dose of Abbie Rose on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the days of work, which is a super treat! Abbie's changed a ton in the last month and has her 4 month check up this Tuesday. We're hoping she's finally gained enough weight to get out of the low percentiles, we'll see. She had her first trip to the pool at Mimi and B's last weekend and seemed indifferent to the water until it was naptime and she wasn't keen on it at all! She's getting better and better at sitting in her bumbo seat each day but still has to have close by company as she likes to cheat and just lean forward and teethe on the pommel! Her feet are her most recent discovery and boy are they exciting things! She's making more and more sweet coos and noises and Mike's doing his best to teach her to say Dada. Abbie switches between sucking her thumb and her 2middle fingers, with paci tiding her over every once in awhile when she's hungry or super sleepy. Every day with her is a true joy and it's still surreal sometimes that God's given us little Abbie.
Memorial Day weekend Abbie was dedicated at church and cried through the whole dedication prayer the pastor ended it with! He'd talk louder and she'd cry louder! We like to think she was making her own prayer known!
Mike's sister, Amy, got married to Taylor May 30th. We were both in the wedding so my Mom and Dad gladly kept Abbie for us, she's not the most courteous guest at weddings yet!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-42808726331618196592009-05-20T08:11:00.000-07:002009-05-20T09:26:26.878-07:00On The Road Again!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgqxInCkVpf1lvjS1zk6LpZNJjxWBIG5R5UwaTD3zTJfN14fyij8KkWRZS6-dPDsKKlBi0j4EovEbMRkqngBOC4GM-c0AQw992mRufIbKI6Cf55tiFJVbqF9AwNNhTrViwTgWaWGd8PA/s200/100_0796.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337928315779956578" />
The new Mr. and Mrs. Borgmeyer, Han and Josh smiled ear to ear the whole time!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-WaJqjhTIn59epA_USwPS5i-Q5o0t_D_WT68kuIX_Ut7X6xBvbxHqsv_ECSIWhfGw1jY_CLMhwUwhI0f6u6vpTl9O5YYw2XgC4IkNtRKOWhAI5j9M5alDCu41qcIenKCzJHTHmXEIgw/s200/100_0803.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337928312836033922" />
Three Generations....it was a great first Mother's Day and I anticipate many more to come!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr5CN98W-gZkwQKsdHwyzsLpYJNGrWaV2qSI5zfpRDsoD0JwywblSyM59oFfq5FKwHpsPBZWNxOgI3LVtMz7kirs3TTAx4jh7drK1fl-GnEgq9Vq4Lio6zzFYymtuuPwYyOKaxgX0PGQ/s200/100_0787.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337928305457891042" />
Tulips and irises from Mike and Abbie for Mother's Day.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrJL6xdhIA8o2u7ic8IL37GqcsgYcwsb-ceIcXMpy8SXHmz_OAOmmXM1Ga3Cbtj_xVe4wqz5ms8hU_F-gb2QvgCEnm4pErfDLc1vCXQCG09YmRJ_K9_QT6eklULoG9jk7DvMG_4lpQeA/s200/100_0763.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337928304235522850" />
Tummy Time on Mommy's leg to make a stinky thing more tolerable! I took about 6 pix of Abbie in it but I will spare you of the photo shoot. I just couldn't contain myself with the camera! But who could with such a cute, sweet subject for pix!

We've had a busy month of WEDDINGS and there's one more super special one to come, my sister-in-law, Amy and her fiance, Taylor, will be tying the knot May 30 to round out our crazy month of weddings. We took a road trip to St. Louis May 16 for a super close college friend of mine's wedding, Hannah. Mom and Dad were the official babysitters for Abbie Rose since she can't control all her coos and squeals of delight these days to sit through a ceremony. We celebrated my first Mother's Day there with delicious crepes from City Cafe and Coffeehouse and a LONG ride home back to Memphis! Mike surprised me with 2 vases of tulips and irises for Mother's Day, a mistake of ProFlowers but I enjoyed getting 2 to enjoy. This past weekend we headed to Atlanta to see Nana Rose and Papa Ray and go to my 2nd cousin's, Derrik's, wedding in Alabama. I must say we've almost mastered traveling with an infant....you don't stop unless she's awake and hungry! You hold it and wait for drinks/snacks til it's time for her to eat so that 6 hour trips don't end up being 9 hours! I know all you out there with infants know what I'm talking about.
Please be praying for me as I go back to work next week! I will be working 3 days a week and Mike's mom and sister will be keeping Abbie. I'm going to miss being at home with her everyday so much and can't wait til God brings those days back to me hopefully SOON!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-69385870112752258032009-05-02T18:45:00.000-07:002009-05-03T19:35:34.978-07:002 Months Old and All Smiles!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnYNXq5WsfjQZACgUISZyaXG6Q0PCbWm7SeZjQez-YwZVVd1s79QmhFrMTwCDd_zHtSEqTbeo3bt6u4e_8F48JmUA0-Q4sDItFesJgN6fXht5eqK7CuWey6VOftgjWRdk1fZU4oZdn_Q/s200/100_0748.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331789960073908642" />
Mommy and Abbie Rose
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3j9RRtPnLvCyagfS9QNq-pxS50wqv4T_9sDjR48JMXQtVLzTK_wQSNFD2G-bYfityWDQRZt9UOmzCX6kgIyFeIhIq1DlElKBsqM33EO1V2sDE7XDS4SwIoGW1wW1TupqQidPT2INpEg/s200/100_0740.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331789958340731298" />
Demonstrating some of her gymnastics moves, she LOVES lying on her back with free arms and legs!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF_IcCtOttkdtyMjUsVgeOnOM6h5XO_cIEdqkyl0eMRnc-abaqqLxAZ7NNuX9aQwOnld2HAogbTWMih8jvOh6cH09mpOOSbsgtgkq2QNFZ3iTmeCW74P_x6GYnfavMbzP9JGom9Y-onw/s200/100_0723.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331789953705392178" />
It's been tough to catch her smiles on camera and video, but we got lucky this time.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrClC-Juw5jsSwxDmkHBELWE1D8j6q0QatLY1YEvmXC0uSuSeuPxXlgc86r-gp8sYeOtz1QTTTuVgv2KvdYsZMCaryvV4IODnMNiR1UppM4B1lMBbvG2s2Kt7dkKtR2wJ-C-50KWVz2Q/s200/100_0702.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331789950300372370" />
The aftermath of her 1st shots...1 shot in each thigh with colorful bandaids and fussiness as the evidence.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXjB4USuquzSWpta18-eSZPa4To0eTUXa3-q7E4xEuOJ5FxV29xmjdoxUR-Zswcr9t9hl9q4yzB4OVxcrjuIaiSAJ3mtEQqac5MV9d4TJ4DIfHUsdVRvgkDh_r2mlko-IkBLSdNBP1eA/s200/100_0699.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331789944739071122" />
The way we often find Abbie in the mornings or at the end of her naps! She's a mover and a shaker in her sleep!

Little Abbie Rose is 9 weeks old and time has absolutely FLOWN! At her 2 month check up she weighed in at a big 8 lbs 3 oz (10th percentile) and is 22.5 inches long (50th percentile). We are hoping and praying she weighs in on the more "heavyweight" side when we go for her "weigh in" in a couple weeks. She's changing so much everyday with new coos, squeals, and facial expressions. She's started smiling when she's got a full belly and mommy is playing with her making silly faces and when daddy gets home from work, one of her favorite times of the day! Her tolerance of "tummy time" expires quickly but she has her daily dose because mommy knows best, right?!The paci is her best friend once evening comes and she's "spent" for the day as "fussy time" embarks, several nights a week. Abbie went to her first birthday party today. It was her cousin Maggie's 4 year old princess party! Abbie slept through the cake and presents, but made it through the first half of fun watching all the kiddos do fun crafts on a rainy day.The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-14270854651462740772009-04-17T19:02:00.001-07:002009-04-17T19:20:42.003-07:00Our Little Easter Bunny<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBV8lVwFKpFPUYlDm0geMGANWeK2ybFoAQJbG0mFpP4XIu7M7ZFyVpBpvetMgk4K2vRX1XMLOj7P0nXFgsqSsN23WtJNocSXEPelkz8gWNvfJMs-sTrZlawrQaSSv4wUTEW7KtEJFLxg/s200/100_0690.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325848613517397682" />
Custom easter egg dyed and decorated by Daddy. She did amazing to be only 6 1/2 weeks old! The trek to Atlanta went from the normal 6 1/2 hour trip to 9 hours! But we did have the treat of stopping in Birmingham to enjoy delicious pizza at California Pizza Kitchen, one of our favorites. We enjoyed Friday in Atlanta and then set out on another trek on Saturday to Alabama to visit family and friends and introduce Abbie to all of them. We had a great time at my Aunt Kay's house for Easter with all our family. Mike dyed easter eggs for the first time in his life and helped Aunt Kay make dressing from scratch. Abbie's dress was borrowed from her cousins, Maggie and Lily. What a perk to have girl cousins to share clothes with. Abbie found the first easter egg in the hunt with all her second and third cousins. It just happened to be the one her daddy dyed especially for her!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-79962421815196210972009-04-04T20:05:00.000-07:002009-04-04T20:39:55.515-07:002 Years of Bliss<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnVfN_v3qaUhGnhiVDW3Wl1VkERly-LAI_Z88Dr1wI-7SsizZptG9svCMgsk6rASKcVvgNslrg0903OEU4xbmt7MHcj05aPFEvS3hW9AF9JF_9fzJpOFQTrDdzJxiaPZB24O245igkpg/s200/100_0647.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321044587578860546" />
Pacy is my friend when I'm just beside myself with fussiness, though it takes up my whole face and it's a newborn pacy!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZHoYJvZmjMCkhnEbAn2kOtkjvebk-y2HUgJBVBegPhB-5E0Le69oBsOWZt7oR-h4lQoR1ZcVmTlj0HrhM-hEFrkP9EX-rQCx9_sO6cN7NZ03FBnm2npEMRqavw6zbjhDKZJfiUYLGYQ/s200/100_0644.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321044586167929138" />
We've been working VERY hard on this BIG BELLY! Time's flown and oh how life's changed! It's been numerous blessings beyond counting that God's given us. Nana Rose and Papa Ray babysat little Abbie Rose while we went to Bahama Breeze to celebrate caribbean style last weekend, and we continued our celebration cooking dinner together the eve of our anniversary this past week. Our menu included macadamia encrusted tilapia with mango papaya salsa, broccoli, and brownies and oatmeal cookie chocolate chip ice cream! Good stuff! We've almost perfected our tag team cooking skills and love that kind of quality time together. Though, these days I often find myself as a spectator, along with Abbie, watching Mike and his chef skills, which thankfully he's ok with.
Of course I also added some recent pictures of Abigail, just couldn't help myself!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-56131576635863043972009-03-29T14:30:00.000-07:002009-03-29T12:28:36.479-07:00Abbie Rose is 1 Month Old!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxUU3zxCidptAkOyRrJQpuycDfS4GTaLOYeHkyVYfP6r889KUTG3fYYs2xhEo0a0X4R-LfA662KSbhu0Cca-rduWroFpmU10mT_PHyp6ENj743oB0Z4tjlv423d-y5hB1i9HCO4baKyw/s200/100_0570.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318691667131106034" />
This froggy towel rescues me from miserable baths, it's my favorite moment of baths for sure!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF4XoJPR2NsC9wnT2awmlAsD-3MvbNy-aYXlTjwH25uxYLziiDuSf8sN1fvINaBZnh-TM84J11JCaMmkEKhd41TjTmaCEPY3xo3eEDJ-0gpzDfJhxYVAbgFVYsMfV8J523PKh-x97i2w/s200/100_0548.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318691664621101538" />
Mommy and me
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEpZjBWCU7PP_FX0uE5_xEnsaGd3ejtAW-BPr_TYPsa1ucMpW074Tq0oacb-b_Sqw1OtB_bsxmtg2ZD4Xi_7sb2Ip1GHMhIeFVV0mTkwwWBPHV6nbPGK_ba8bD0ngMofCXonwLvO9h7Q/s200/100_0541.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318691664681249410" />
Definitely a fan of "boppy time"
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyAED3PvKGy3raaZUmc-OfCj4ZI-AgpNu_nxZQWkFNMddEa88Cx-vc8EMyW0GMNQt93vm9r7OH_iLF2BddzUCmR2SvTTyeC7kT421WuUWHzB0y86kyRO6FF8I3QsVFYjwVCYlSzoa3mg/s200/100_0512.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318691654417996370" />
I've mastered kicking my socks off as soon as Mommy puts them on
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcwJVJjPPNLuSg9f5fT6gWUNepMFg_g52OpeTjvgwNW6ToXc7V2XlSm0EZ363jxPHmb8z8a3WVFdBwn2HcgoDBP3F3LcMILAeNS9eo3rtVlbAjtBkbeWQQoqlIX9w9hP01EzTOCJjdoA/s200/100_0490.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318691649577707282" />
My HERO and me

It's been an exciting, life-changing month around the Monsarrat household since Abbie Rose arrived! I've honestly felt like a zombie a lot of the time as we're adjusting to life with a newborn! Some days when Mike gets home from work, I can't even think what I've been doing all day long it's such a blur! An amazing blur though, that's for sure. Some of my favorite moments have been quiet times in the day of talking to and singing songs to Abbie, watching Mike have Daddy time with her, and the more frequent and longer awake times for Abbie as she's looking around,cooing, and exploring her new world! Of course, we think she's a super star already and the sweetest thing in the world! It's still surreal and so humbling that God's blessed us immensely with this sweet baby girl!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-74906217686621350992009-03-04T13:08:00.000-08:002009-03-04T18:39:28.158-08:00Abigail Rose Monsarrat's Birthday!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIgz6g9S3_CXEjN7znNaX1pz-KIxirCK6JdCsz9QlXeo8ZeTmzpgbWG7DkS6y_axEZbu2te56gXE3H-zxtXKfOahSIvp_nGcKTdbo24cwsoiqDF9M5kBeJtmO1_ygx91eYq1zj2d8Z-Q/s200/100_0396.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309526533400359682" />
Sleepy time after a LONG day's work!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJn1vgqNNeUECWccNWHqJ5_bAPjoYLJsm6aaETFaMkJ6hK7ZiigktVRrDvahG7RgRCLaSZH2KyJIM66dxN6aoRPPeVc_SQIrxs3ciOStDa8cTiIMp1o_mt6XU2H46YrsqhDkoS85K4xA/s200/100_0404.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309526530045170530" />
Big blue eyes! The best one of our lives for sure! It all began last Wednesday, February 25, 2009. We arrived at Methodist Germantown Hospital at 6am, without much sleep for either of us the night before understandably with the excitement ahead. They started the pitocin drip at 7am and we arrived in labor land! By 10:30 I'd experienced enough of the pains that labor brings and hollered, literally, for the anesthesiologist. I could have hugged that woman after she finished giving me the epidural! They are definitely a gift from God above in my opinion. That labor pain is for the birds. I felt like a new woman and was all smiles after the nurse predicted Abbie's arrival by 2:30pm~! I started pushing about 1:30 and come 2:00 the nurse told me to hold on while she went to get the doctor! Hold on! Are you kidding me??!! At 2:08, we heard the miraculous, breathtaking sound of our baby girl's cry and saw her finally after many long months of waiting! It was indescribable and I couldn't stop crying. Mike videoed her when the doctor held her up for us to see her the first time, me holding her on my chest right away, and the intense rub down and check the nurse gave her to welcome her into this world!
These words are insufficient to describe the intense emotions and excitement of February 25, but I did my best. "God is good" is just one of many ways to sum it up!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-33527805050660159732009-02-21T19:58:00.000-08:002009-02-21T20:12:04.744-08:00Valentine's Day and 39 Weeks<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwjfElXBfTYkQNX46jqqZ-ROYP-quq5lfeHaLteYED-ci_sNsKj1dIX8dpaATLCvAlQxGtG2c_z4mJOgVlr3syrgdKywexlpVvayUswgj9URLjSHndM7opG69hGKwMB7wu0zXxTtd3Sg/s200/100_0375.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5305468746071774578" /> Chef's Special for Valentine's Day
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQhTZCUptcaA3cOriBuS_uOh8EBFN5LTv1G0JLJDExOVWzvSX8DfM4rUAJ34I-Fj3YW2R043il-TKDkic_yS1o47Ps2GaJeu92_6K1VKjs-IRLKJYLayF3bgUrMuPI0LqbPQJHjxA-g/s200/100_0377.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5305468749277490994" /> Jenn and Abbie Rose's Dessert of the Day (we did share with Mike!)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnQ3f9bZ1qqJOdTFB0Txsin3FkIGLlpclwhBkPy3HjniXvGEfOptPZGl5hoTQFKFmykuuf7u1N9MVcjpsf2vkdrovSYzy5Ub6k9gZeCDuv2-lmu6BPvR0T8E4r39-tf6K9xASYK8OH_Q/s200/100_0378.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5305468743628993410" /> 39 Weeks

For our last Valentine's Day as just us 2, we celebrated at home together just in case Abbie Rose decided to make her appearance. We cooked a scrumptious dinner of papaya salsa orange roughy and sweet potato surprise! It was a delicious caribbean style meal that hit the spot. I'd requested a TCBY ice cream cake for a dessert treat and it was wondrous also. Mike and I love cooking together, he's the chef and I'm his assistant because he's much better at it than me!
Abbie's made it to 39 weeks in my belly! It's been 5 weeks since her little trick of trying to come early. We just can't believe it's been that long, though it does feel like time's crept by and been an eternity since 34 weeks when she gave us a scare.
I had my weekly doctor's appointment last Thursday and the plan is to be induced Wednesday, February 25th if Abbie doesn't come before then. We are praying she will come before then because I, especially, prefer for her to come in her own and God's timing without medication to help her along on her journey. So in 4 days at the most, we'll be holding a precious baby girl in our arms who we've prayed for and anticipated for so long it seems!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-9224165168913802102009-02-14T10:59:00.001-08:002009-02-14T11:05:39.725-08:0038 Weeks and a False Wives Tale<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2LEOz6sJ3Cx3f0v2FEkHbynMn8t9IMe1vkpa_pIQJdsa0NdtUh9huVfW-Y1L8m4hI4uWHv6tItD3rskurcPX9PkaUyB3hghtUnKnvBvwi5TRJCUwbOXFopaTQ7SQusXC7zQtMxDwtrg/s200/100_0374.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302731240704037474" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9y_g69ZmOw4NGMoSB_x57Lb18KLqkBZmqFgSp2ksJqaQ4BQFO06CCi9807kU-MfRFCiy6REThvnmrpmRC6oFWWlb-uxd5hcmw8nEA6V5KUBPH52If9YRQBix-GrMiD4QeR2ZQPgHEyA/s200/100_0372.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302731235242885346" />
I've made it through my first week of work post bedrest! I was so so sore getting back moving again and am just uncomfortable with Abbie's birth pending any moment now. A co-worker told me about an old wives tale of scrubbing your bath tub to speed up the onset of labor so i gave it a try one night this past week......and no such luck! maybe i didn't scrub hard enough but i got out of breath just squatting in the tub to clean it! Joys of pregnancy! I saw the doctor thursday and she said Abbie Rose is sitting super low! That's good news but yes, we are still waiting! She has a mind of her own! The plan at this point is to induce me on February 25th if Abbie doesn't come on her own before then. The doctor told me though she thinks she will come before then and we so hope she's right! Please pray for us to have patience in this time of such anticipation and excitement and for a safe entrance of little Abbie into this world!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-17409654044579494172009-02-07T17:37:00.000-08:002009-02-07T17:56:23.299-08:0037 Weeks & Day 2 Off Bedrest!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif8_GHPHEa66VfCYeJIcxBuvhUVgFb0-Bq4jf-i7Ay_ScNLJEl_IxzilZVbYWodoWKkg1pPReod7e-r7TLo7KZ9epFOenoQrti6JAnsk8JyJ9BALw_FEeQEKQn4cV89dZdh92SovYrcA/s200/100_0362.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300238201923075618" />
St Louis Cardinals onesie Mike got this week in the mail for Abbie Rose to wear to her first Cardinals game

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQBr5ESTuieSJp2ZiHfOx95RqieT7yBhR_K1sYn6U8VHZ0gSc550KDMwYORmWR4cbKNEvDpg7V7h4X86F1e-MVqLHMC40Zp0NtKiqrJCWnPyA0kaWUSVLLt4AKw9BF-eUfjQn0K-nbpw/s200/100_0371.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300238198578596690" />
Mike enjoying delicious homemade Pizza Margherita & sporting his Tiger pride

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg84Biwo4ginuSmoYetVOSZ9BgQuhmz4vFdld9ssnAQPTSZOgfMgnV1yTpILJO7uPR6M7_Fu9r5ElHVXtSv5P67qvRV_kcImU6QiCiR9e1WLW1yTPgNE8oYQWZOf-qJaeVTD7lHdjwdYA/s200/100_0369.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300238200350727042" />
37 Week Belly Shot

The doctor had fantastic news, as we were hoping, when I saw her yesterday......no more medicine to stop labor, no more bedrest, and abbie rose is doing wonderful!!! She's a whopping 6 lbs 1 oz, according to the ultrasound, head down and ready to make her debut into this big, bad world to meet us and an anxiously awaiting crowd. So...I spent the rest of the day yesterday reveling in my freedom from the bed and couch running errands to continue preparing for her. I took a long tour of Target and Hobby Lobby, pure treats! I was so worn out by the end of the day but we took advantage of some of our last days of just Mike and I to eat dinner at Logan's.

Today, we started our day with homemade blueberry pancakes, which we got to cook together for the first time in 3 weeks! I got super tired of sitting at the bar with my feet up watching Mike cook all the time. It's one of our favorite things to do together. We took a LONG walk at Shelby Farms, a huge park closeby, to enjoy the nice Spring like weather and in attempts to "walk Abbie out" a little! We have taken many walks there since we moved here and soon we'll be strolling little Abbie Rose around that place with us. Tonight, we made homemade pizza margherita from a recipe from epicurious.com. It was delicious to say the least, and challenging at moments when we didn't have parchment paper to make it on! We managed though and it hit the spot. We nestled in on the couch to REST and watch the Memphis Tigers basketball game and cheer on those Tigers.The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-56362445272313172122009-02-01T13:17:00.000-08:002009-02-01T13:49:34.109-08:00Abbie's Nursery and Celebration # ????<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsFFztTRK6thkNhjE3Ac2tLQURV9TzyS5Pf0BCHCTYT04CL2v8BqlZm8Gc5rp4an3hrAnPhQlVp60-maHNAbKRGXjBpOtbqxgZNJ-DmmfatNV1H7aimdFBuNpY8RmUx_uOk3zqtgrVgQ/s200/100_0365.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297945077796461730" />

Homemade Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Mousse Icing made my Jennifer! The plaque with the "A" was handmade by a friend of my PT school friend, Rachel.

Friday night Amy and Taylor came over again for another nursery work night! They've been so helpful and we appreciate it so much. Mike made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing and sprinkles for Abbie and I, which I'd been majorly craving for a couple days. They gave us all the energy we needed for the 3 hour job of putting the diaper changing table together, decorative knobs on her chest of drawers, liner in the drawers, and of course the moral support I provided for the entire project! By the end of it, the 3 of them could hardly see straight but the changing table was together, in place, and looked fantastic!

Saturday night our Discipleship group from church had a mexican dinner, cake, and fellowship time for us to celebrate Abbie Rose and enjoy hanging out together. I was good and stayed put the majority of the time. Dinner was delicious and the homemade cake was right up our alley...chocolate cake with chocolate mousse icing! Delicious!

Today my one trip upstairs was to fill Abbie's chest of drawers with onesies, blankets, burp clothes, hats, booties, etc and get her room organized while Mike decorated the walls with wooden letters I painted polka dots on this past week while on bedrest, and other sweet decorations. I could sit in her nursery all day! Mike read her a story called "God Gave Us You" that my college friends, Josh and Joni, gave us at our Memphis shower. He even used different voices for the characters until it made his throat start hurting 1/2 way through the book! Sweet moments for him and I with little Abbie Rose as we anticipate her arrival! God has blessed us immensely and we are so thankful.The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-46252362033119016062009-01-30T16:15:00.001-08:002009-01-30T16:23:20.453-08:0036 weeks and Counting<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfJANLQ3zdzEDqgZY5AcSmfcCXDbso9r7262xVrF4PeNaiqFSaNhVxcmJeOyhPWvx_r0AZnK-7p_9TTUVl7OXpkYLwSPOQ4P3aZj_K4dN0Qo7Xbeg16Qr_I0dvX7wmPbL_0xwThGlHQg/s200/100_0354.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297246793386042354" />
Well, the verdict of my MD appt today was 1 more week of bedrest and then no holds bar, or however you spell that! The plan as of today is to come off the medication and move around as much as I want after next Friday when I'm 37 weeks so Abbie Rose will be considered term whenever she decides to enter this world. I had a feeling deep down this would be my MD's preference, which is different from what the 2 MDs told me that saw me when Abbie took us to the hospital for a short stay 2 weeks ago when she decided to shake things up a bit. They had said bedrest til I was 36 weeks instead of 37. Abbie and I are growing together and settled in for 7 more days of rest and relaxation, bonding with the couch. I'll keep you posted and please be praying for us and Abbie's safe arrival!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-39180720229189670912009-01-28T17:11:00.000-08:002009-01-28T18:28:38.969-08:00Mini Shower for Abbie Rose<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTgg23_B2LPNYy9u0uaL3Rp1-R4Dk59C9KZTfzQfS6Mr9pNTXoXqkbBRciDOh_BtTsH7sMa5l4S_hPmivkGCVXM6JLP3gfrEM_S7rAXRFsMa8fCJP5KxBylnh2sEedbhQ-OkUzw2p_uQ/s200/100_0350.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296536491842066530" />
Sweet watermelon outfits for Abbie Rose
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjByRvIkaQz09Y8mLY2RlIJJngTGr8LjHAVLukHdJrOrnlueF08gf7zfW9nfYD0ihpp4pwdg57aHbeAeWwDCInf6XmEinnhIT7nhKxXS3TCZu3cVZRfj3_Cl9RvfjU6P_Y7Av6tDYeXEQ/s200/100_0353.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296536196832156770" />
Pam, me, and Shannon

A shower for Abbie Rose had been planned at work today for a month or so, but we were unable to make it for obvious reasons! So.....my boss, Pam, and my student, Shannon brought the shower to me! It snowed here in Memphis today so others weren't able to come because kids were out of school, so it was a mini shower. They came with an abundance of gifts from my co-workers that was overwhelming and such a blessing! They also brought yummy pineapple and some frozen food for after Abbie comes, so thoughtful. This was the first shower Mike got to come to also, instead of just coming at the end to help pack the car with gifts received. He wrote down who each gift was from and did a great job, with a little guidance from us girls. We were overwhelmed with people's generosity and Abbie and I felt very special and loved. It was a great time and such a treat to have company to catch up and celebrate Abbie Rose with.The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-65766609905876430.post-70920124839013117012009-01-27T16:19:00.000-08:002009-01-28T18:31:13.172-08:00Goodbye Old SaturnThe outing for the day was driving to follow Mike as he drove my old car to meet a lady ready with cash in hand to buy it! We put it on craigslist a few weeks ago and had several prospects and finally a buyer tonite! It had tons of miles on it as my mom used it do drive 1000+ miles/week to do home health nursing in ATL for several years, but it's been a good, reliable one for sure. I sound like a commercial, don't I? Anyways, we are very thankful that she will get good use out of it, as we recently bought a honda pilot as our new family car with Abbie Rose on the way. I'm back at home now, on the couch where I've been ordered to be, all snuggled in for the night and about to watch Mike cook up some spaghetti for dinner. Abbie is hungry and her Daddy's a good cook!
P.S. - I had a picture of the car in this post originally, but deleted it in my ignorance of figuring out how to put pictures in the next day's post! I'm learning, bear with me. I'll just blame it on pregnancy brain!The Monsarratshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18370959761026078454noreply@blogger.com2
